How does the LAP-BAND ® system work?

The process by which weight loss is achieved following LAP-BAND surgery is simple: Because LAP-BAND involves a reduction in the size of the stomach, those who have undergone the procedure feel a sensation of fullness after consuming smaller amounts of food. Over a relatively brief period of time, the minimized food intake results in weight loss.

LAP-BAND is adjustable

LAP-BAND is reversible
